 Increase productivity with Web Collaboration

 

 The current economic crisis in the US and abroad is of great concern to many businesses.  I believe that technology will be a major reason why some firms will survive and even thrive during this tuff period.  The question is what can IT do to deal with the new realities? This is a great time to re-engineer business processes by implementing technologies that can cut cost and increase productivity.  Technologies like Virtualization, Virtual Private Networking and Unified Communications are perfect examples. 

 One key trend that many organizations are embracing is virtual web meetings.  I personally have experienced a major increase in productive by helping support my customer base using Cisco’s WebEx Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution.  I have been able to provided training, remote customer support and do design meetings via WebEx.  Our organization has been able to be more responsive to our customers while cutting travel costs substantially and being more eco-friendly. Customers enjoy the benefit of better quality customer service.  WebEx allows us to interact with them via Audio/Video conferencing and application sharing.
